Did you know the Canadian Louis Cyr? The kind of man you didn't have to mess around with heavy jokes in the 1900s! He was one of the most iconic strongmen, having notably achieved the feat of lifting a weight of 273 pounds (123 kg) above his head with one hand. Louis Cyr was one of the big attractions of circuses and fairs in his time. On the program of his champion training: intense mental preparation for the pain and the movements to be performed and the extreme weights to be lifted. He believed that to be strong you had to eat as much as possible, so he ingested between 6,000 and 8,000 calories a day, including 4.5 kg of meat, eggs, liters of whole milk... In short, a man who was better seen in paintings than at the table.
